Q&A To Accept the Nomination
In order to accept the nomination, I needed to answer a few questions. Please see below…hopefully they’ll provide some ideas, insight, or just bring a smile to your face.
What is your favorite blog?
One of my favorite blogs is “Just A Girl and Her Blog” – she has decorating tips, organizing tips and blogging resources. I find Abby down to earth and practical. One of her posts that I’ve recently implemented is about the KonMari Method of folding clothes. I had never heard of this method and I have to say that it turned my families dresser drawers from chaos to organized. Each drawer fits more clothes now than it did before and you can see everything at once enabling you to match outfits more efficiently. Check the post out here. Her blogging resources were tremendously helpful to me as I developed my own blog…I highly recommend the “Building A Framework” course if you’re planning on starting a blog. Not only did it layout the basics, but it also demystified the technical side of it.
Name the top 3 most beautiful beaches you have ever visited
Bora Bora (for our Honeymoon), Hawaii, and an Island off of Venezuela
What is your favorite post from your blog and why? (please include link)
5 Must Have Skills for Your Kid’s Coaches is one of my favorite posts because it was a timely post. It was the result of a situation we faced as a family and it really made me reflect on why we have our daughter involved in sports, what we want her to gain from it and in return, what we want her to get from it.
What makes you laugh out loud?
My daughters dance moves, her three year old explanation of why she made XYZ decision, and her silliness. Oh yeah…and my dad’s jokes. You want to hear one from today??? I texted him a picture of our early snow storm that covered our vegetable garden. His reply to my text…time to grow snow peas! Lol…Snow peas…you get it!
If you could only take 1 more trip, where would you go and why?
Since I live in Canada, away from all of my family, if I could only take 1 more trip, it would have to be to Houston to visit my loved ones.
What is the greatest thing that has happened to you this month?
My baby turned 1 year old. He is such a blessing and an answer to prayer, hard to believe it’s already been a year.
How do you start your day?
First I get my daughter dressed for preschool, then get myself dressed while my hubby gets the kids breakfast, then I get dressed, grab a quick breakfast and latte #espressomachine, and log on to work.
Why did you start your blog? Where do you see it a year from now?
I’m always researching things, educating family, my friends, and myself. I love to influence, so why not take a stab at one of the most current ways to influence others! In a year from now, I hope to be influencing more than I am now, inspired by the relationships I’ve built over the year, and hitting the ball out of the park on blog topics that are current, relevant, and necessary.
How do you spend a rainy day?
If I’m not working, I’m with the kids…rainy days are spent on indoor crafts, baking with Little Miss E, playing new games in the basement, or going out to an indoor play space.
Name 3 qualities that describe you
Faithful, Outgoing, Go-Getter. I’m a faithful friend, wife, sister, daughter, believer. Once we’re friends, we’re friends for life!!! Outgoing, it’s been said that I’ve never met a stranger. I’ve always loved people, getting to know them, their stories, what makes them tick, their potential and interests! Let’s get to know each other! As a Go-getter, I always have goals, am always challenging myself to do something new, be it run a marathon or write a blog. Let’s take life by the horns and make the most of it!
Best advice you’ve ever gotten
If at first you don’t succeed, try again; you’ve got nothing to lose. I would have missed out on so many opportunities if I gave up after the first or even second or third tries. Failures build character, Opportunities create connections, Success is sweet once it happens- never give up!
